Public Art Projects

"IN PUBLIC: Seattle 1991"

  • Chosen as one of 25 national and international artists to participate in Seattle Arts Commission/ Seattle Art Museum sponsored public art event. Choice based on prior work
  • Received public recognition for proposal and $10,000 grant
  • Provided leadership and vision for project which focused on needs of children.
  • Orchestrated exhibitions of children’s art; "Great Kids’ Art"
  • Created and developed liaisons between community agencies, arts organizations and businesses during course of project. Initiated all contacts
  • Artist in Residence. Yesler Community Center, Seattle. 1989-1992. Developed art programs
  • Art instructor. Big Brothers of King County. 1989-1992
  • Created children's video, "Can a Hamburger Marry a Hotdog?", with support and resources from Security Pacific Bank

1992 Seattle Arts Commission award

  • Chosen as one of 15 Seattle artists to receive 1992 Seattle Arts Commission award of $8500. Choice based on prior work and proposal
  • Developed "Great Kids’ Art: Part 2". Continuation of 1991 public art project
  • Provided leadership, vision and organization. Initiated contacts with all participants.
  • Orchestrated all phases of project. Acted as intermediary between all parties involved.
  • Seattle University acted as exhibition site and Seattle Times sponsored event
  • Projects received highly positive response from media, participants and public
