Fiendish! 

Scary dog!

When we left Andy Griffith in the last episode (see part 1 ) he was heading straight to certain death at the hands of a gang of crazed, 20- foot desert rattlesnakes. Was this to be the end for Sheriff Andy?

(I think at this point we need to get some sense of the moment. Below is a reenactment of  how Andy looked at that critical point.)

 Onwards.


He reeled towards the treacherous vipers of Satan, drawn by sheer exhaustion and the siren song of what he thought was his beloved Aunt Bea calling to him, "Andy! Andy!" He was now only ten feet from the psychotic beasts. In their hunger for blood the snakes could no longer control themselves. They catapulted their vile being straight at Andy; fangs bared and insane eyes flaring!

Incredible as it may seem, the noble Sheriff remained calm. His years of patrolling the mean streets of Mayberry had not been for naught. He coolly surveyed the situation and in his icy calm quickly prepared an alternative to his dilemma. At that same instant a thought flashed through his mind; from what we can gather this is what it was...

On this Night of the Apocalypse the infernal serpents were inches from sinking their fangs into the heroic Andrew of the Carolinas.

What could Andy possibly do? There seems to be no chance of escape!
